I've got a family connection to Bounty Mutineer Matthew Quintal (He's a 2nd cousin a few times removed). His portrayal in this movie is hilariously inaccurate. He was the first seaman to be flogged under Bligh's orders and was the one who actually set the Bounty on fire in order to both hide it from the Royal Navy and essentially strand everyone on Tahiti. He was absolutely a dangerous psychopath (probably the most dangerous of the mutineers).
