What about Kuja being for Flanderization? In his game, he was a brilliant chessmaster, but in Dissidia, he was characterized as being whiny, incompetent and easily manipulated. He was also far more flamboyant in this game, too. It's like the creators jumped on the "Lolz, Kjua si gay" bandwagon.
