I would say Frost might be a better example of Hate Sink than Kano, given that in MK 11, she betrayed Sub-Zero, robotized herself and her former Lin Kuei comrades, and aligned herself with Kronika in exchange for more power and simply because Sub-Zero won't make her the Lin Kuei grandmaster. If you watch the interactions with other characters in MK 11, even villains like Shao Kahn and Shang Tsung despise her for her bratty attitude and see her as an immature womanchild.
Agreed, but it seems Kano gets the same treatment. Virtually everyone is disgusted with him for his greed, treachery, sexism, sloven behavior, etc.
What you're describing is 0% Approval Rating, which is the in-universe hatred a character gets. Out-of-universe, Kano is considered one of the most iconic characters in the franchise and has more of a Love to Hate vibe.
Frost is the true Hate Sink, as she is designed to be as completely obnoxious as possible.
