I find this description unfair. I looked up the dangers Tim, Lex and Grant meet in the novel.
1. Attacked by the Tyrannosaur when in the Land Cruiser. Not Lex's fault, she didn't do anything.
2. Attacked by the Tyrannosaur when they get on a boat. Lex's fault, because she woke it up by coughing, but that's not something she can help.
3. Attacked by pterodactyls when passing through the aviary dome. Not Lex's fault.
4. Attacked by the Tyrannosaur when they're behind the waterfall. Not Lex's fault; it found Tim with its tongue.
5. Nearly attacked by a Velocirator when they're in the kitchen. Not Lex's fault. Tim lures the raptor into the freezer and Lex helps him close it.
6. Chased by a pack of raptors (that Grant eventually kills with poisoned eggs). Not Lex's fault. She was the one who warned Tim that they're coming.
