I know it was mentioned frequently that Skipper and Gilligan were in the Navy together, and that Skipper served in World War II, but I don't recall Gilligan participating in the war ever being mentioned. Was it specifically said in an episode somewhere? Couldn't Gilligan have served during peacetime?
