I think it should be pointed out that the Rasputin 5 card was actually confirmed by one of the writers of the Grimoire to be a contingency plan, and not an actual record of events. There may be evidence suggesting he went through with it, but there's also a lot of evidence against it, so we probably shouldn't be automatically saying that the Traveler tried to run before Rasputin forced it to stay
