I've taken out "The Alcoholic" from Al Swearengen's sheet a couple of times only to see it being added again. In my opinion Al doesn't really fit the trope.
Sure, Al drinks, so does pretty much everybody in Deadwood for that matter, but he is never seen visibly intoxicated, nor is his drunkenness ever commented on or treated as a plot point, unlike with Calamity Jane or Steve the Drunk. Thus it should be left out here.
