About the Imposter, we don't know their true gender right? I think all of the official material have their gender as "???". Can we fix that in their description? I feel it's misleading to assume they're a male.
Hide / Show RepliesAll official material lists all his info as either Togami's info or Mitarai's info. The only indications of his true gender is on his final Free Time Event, his Island Mode ending and the endless loop hallucination thing Junko creates in Chapter 6. In all this instances, after having his disguise revealed, he drops Togami's speech pattern, switching Togami's ore for his own boku, which is still a male pronoun.
In SDR 2, during the investigation of the fifth trial, you go into Komaeda's cabin and find the student files. There you find out the Imposter is not Togami, and it shows all of their information as "???", including their gender. Both in game and in the anime, when they reveal their talent, it always comes with the affirmation that they have no identity or name.
I didn't know that about the ore, that's neat. But I looked it up and google says it can be gender neutral depending on the dialect. So maybe it's not so cut and dry? I think it's supposed to remain ambiguous.
Boku is less masculine than ore, but it's still a completely male pronoun. If the point were to remain ambiguous, watashi would be a pronoun choice that would make much more sense.
The character page on SDR 2 for this site even has the Ambiguous Gender and admits that we don't know anything definite about them. They would have listed the gender if they wanted us to know what it is.
I guess whoever put it in the page didn't know. That's completely understandable because his pronoun choice is not easy-access information (only one easy-to-miss instance in the main plot and the rest requires investing on his character on Island Mode) and the localization doesn't refer to that in its translations.
But thanks for the heads-up, I'm going to edit the SDR 2 page now.
I don't think you should edit it. My point was this: I'm not sure you have enough hard evidence to say anything definite about the imposter. I think it's supposed to be a mystery to drive home what a great imposter they are.
Far as Gozu goes, where is it detailed that he was suffocated? If we're talking what's under his mask wasn't the cloth just to respect his identity as a masked wrestler? Nothing aside from the cloth seemed to point to it, and I don't remember it coming up in dialog.
Hide / Show RepliesI thought that when I first saw the cloth, but since it doesn't come up in dialogue at all, I now believe that it was actually just Kirigiri wanted to protect his identity.
Also in Pro Wrestling culture it is considered a cardinal rule for a wrestler (kayfabe is a biatch) who wears a mask to keep it on unless they lost a mask vs. (insert wager here) match so most likely they considered this rule and didn't reveal his face.
Could Sounosuke Izayoi be considered a Shout-Out to Sakuya Izayoi of Touhou Project? Both use throwing knives in combat and have the same surname (complete with the same kanji), but I suppose it could just be two coincidences.
Edited by KEEP_IN Hide / Show RepliesI don't think there's really anything revealed yet that would suggest that connection, but then again, Izayoi is a complete cypher still aside from his love of Andou's sweets.
Izayoi may not be a common name, but it's far from being a rare one either.
About Munakata, In the badass trope it says that he can hold his own against Peko. What's the source? I dont remember seeing him fighting Peko.
Hide / Show RepliesHe fought Peko in the opening sequence of Episode 1. After that happened, Akane and Nekomaru showed up and fought with him, Juzo, and Izayoi.
<DIE THE DEATH> <SENTENCE TO DEATH> <GREAT EQUALIZER IS THE DEATH>Is there a hair trope that details two characters having similar hair styles? While it's pure WMG that Monaca is Miaya, it cannot be denied that the two have almost identical hair styles.
Hide / Show RepliesI don't think so. You could look on the Trope Finder? Like, ask if there's a similar hairstyle trope.
<DIE THE DEATH> <SENTENCE TO DEATH> <GREAT EQUALIZER IS THE DEATH>Should we add entries for Junko and Mukuro? It's obvious that Junko will appear in Despair, and Mukuro is in the opening, which assumes she'll be in it as well

So, I don't know how to reword any of the tropes saying that the final guy standing was the one killed by Izuru, considering there is a survivor who did make it out alive, we just never saw him leave.
