"although some scholars predict it will die out fairly soon" What? Anyone care to share a source or two for this? The use of the phrase seems ubiquitous, and not in danger of being replaced at all.

This is for Values Dissonance section. Theologically speaking, Christian doctrine also have a "musubi" concept, as in "humans are created in the image of God". You only have to open the very first page of the Book of Genesis to find it.

Yes, in the "image" of God, but humans are not divine. Japanese spiritualism believed in a form of apotheosis where a person (or a group of people, or an object, etc.) could literally become divine beings or "kami". For Christians, no matter how good a person is, they will never be a god, because the religion is monotheistic. Even the concept of "Saints" and such is contentious, and largely limited to Catholicism.
