Its acknowledged by Terry in the first episode he is best detective in the 99, and while its true he does have a rivalry with Santiago, he does come out on top from that most of their time (their bet in the first season ended with him winning, and when they work cases together its normally him who makes the breakthrough, the only time I can think off when it wasn\'t was in \

With the others their doesn\\\'t really seem to be much dispute, Boyle doesn\\\'t doubt it, Rosa acknowledges he\\\'s normally right, and Scully and Hitchcock once tried to pretend to be him when he\\\'s not there.

Likewise he is legitemently incredibly good at observation, deduction and imagination. Which are the standard traits of the archetype.

But you\\\'re right, he doesn\\\'t fit well enough to count. Would you say he could count as a Downplayed example though?

Well I added it, and I admit you make a lot of good points and I probably jumped the gun. The thing is though, he is more or less the best detective. Now your right his antics and personality have a lot of flaws. But when it comes to actual cases he is almost always right.
