To be a \\\"cupid\\\" for Naruto to end up with Hinata. That\\\'s right, Neji died to justify an ship. Kishi, you do NOT KILL A CHARACTER TO JUSTIFY A PAIRING. Augh....
Even worse considering that he didn\\\'t NEED to have Neji die to get Naruto and Hinata together. He\\\'d already had the perfect way to bring the two together after the Pein Invasion arc, where she\\\'d expressed her love for him and put her life on the line to help him when all seemed lost. Instead, that perfect excuse for Naru Hina was pretty much completely and utterly ignored.
Yet another flaw is that sometime after his death, Naruto goes and introduces Sakura as his girlfriend to his father.
After watching the Kobayashi Special Interview With Masashi Kishimoto and paying attention to how Kishimoto is laughing when discussing Neji\\\'s death it is highly unlikely he was being serious when he made the \\\"Cupid\\\" statement (He also says something that sounds like Cupid when discussing Neji\\\'s relation to Bolt). Also, the confession during the pain arc was not ignored nor forgotten, but rather misinterpreted. As shown when Naruto references it during the war arc and later during The Last when he realizes he is in love with Hinata. Also the girlfriend comment in chapter 631 was Naruto poking fun at Sakura and confirmed in 632 when he says he should stop doing that. Overall this wallbanger is ignoring parts of the story and taking Kisimoto\\\'s interview out of context.
