An interesting artifact that popped up in the middle of episode 8 was the location that Ange and company turn up at after abandoning their escape vehicle--an old petrol station (gasoline). Given the fanatical, quasi-religious and literally subhuman treatment that norma receive on an institutionally at both the public and international levels, combined with the presence of artifacts such as old french romance films, would it be too far-fetched to assume that the opposite was once the case? That magic using humans were created, rebelled, and then subsequently erased all records of this, enslaving and institutionalizing racism to secure their position?
