It seems like the Night Elf characters, even their entire faction, suffered serious Character Derailment as World of Warcraft progressed. Being immortal, along with the Draenei, they would have the most combat experience and could be among the best warriors, yet this is not addressed or depicted in the game. As for their characters, Tyrande\'s skill as a tactician (successfully leading their military for thousands of years, and her more reasonable tendencies) and reasonable traits all but disappear by Mists of Pandaria, which looks like a serious case of CharacterDerailment. Furion also pretty much usurps leadership away from her instead of sharing it like they did in Warcraft 3 then does almost nothing. As for Shandris, Tyrande\'s second in command and adopted daughter, she seems to be PutOnABus. Why was this done? New writers? Character development taken in a negative direction or, as I suspect, [[MostWritersAreHuman Blizzard trying to discredit the Night Elves]], [[CreatorBacklash especially]] MostWritersAreMale Tyrande]], [[MostWritersAreHuman and shill Varian and Stormwind?]]
