I believe that Warcraft III: The Frozen throne should be mentioned in the Video Games examples. I\'m a beginner, so please add the example on my behalf. In the third Sentinel mission, we have Maiev searching the Tomb of Sargeras, but as she enters, she notices orcish runes no the walls, that seem to have been created 20 years earlier by the Orc Warlock Gul\'dan. He logged his journey through the massive Tomb, giving visions of what actually happened to anyone who could read them. Maiev followed his trail until the runes seemed to fade away, and the visions stopped after logging the final moments of a beaten, dieing Gul\'dan. It counts as very good apocalyptic log, Gul\'dan entering confident and with an army of followers and ending up beaten, betrayed, bleeding, only a few feet away from his goal, with a demonic figure watching his slow demise and laughing at his efforts.
