The fact that you have to keep upgrading your computer all the time isn\'t really, unless you absolutely must have the highest graphical settings at all times. My computer is 5 years old, hasn\'t been upgraded at all, and I still manage to play pretty much any new game I want to (though I mostly play RPGs), lowering the graphics setting if necessary. Otherwise you\'d only need to upgrade it as often as an average person replaces his laptop or cell phone. Disregarding the entire graphics issue, you have a massive backlog of games to play and several indie games that won\'t require high graphics.

Then again, indies and other older PC games will probably run fine on a laptop with a decent graphics card, anyway.

I have played and enjoyed a lot of console games, but I lean towards RPGs and strategy games, and I especially like playing games from around the late nineties to early 2000s, so I prefer gaming on my PC. Someone who prefers platformers and fighting games will not find much use out of a gaming PC.
