Yes and no. Fanon simply means \\\"information not explicitly canon that is generally accepted as such by the fans\\\". An example of fanon is the popular portrayal in \\\'\\\'{{Homestuck}}\\\'\\\' of Karkat being the shortest among the (male) trolls, which [[TheNapoleon would certainly fit his personality]], but has never been proved [[AscendedFanon one way]] [[{{Jossed}} or the other]]. An example of \\\"fanfiction writers pretending their interpretations are real\\\" would fall under, say, Envy from \\\'\\\'FullmetalAlchemist\\\'\\\' [[DracoInLeatherPants being a misunderstood \\\'bad boy\\\' with a heart of gold rather than a homicidal sociopath who commits atrocities]] ForTheEvulz. See the difference?
