Unfortunately there\'s this thing: His persona\'s charisma to \'get the job done\'... isn\'t exactly something worth \'wow\'-ing about, most of the people can\'t stand him, even after \'joining\' him, Litchi isn\'t very supportive or trusting to him, always keeping a wary eye on what he\'s planning and not giving him full support as if he\'s a charismatic DarkMessiah. And Tsubaki... Hazama had to resort to MindRape in order to keep her in line. Therefore, his personality of the \'mild-mannered informant\' isn\'t exactly a fairly strong one or charismatic enough to warrant a good \'performance\' or genuine trust. Unfortunately there\\\'s this thing: His persona\\\'s charisma to \\\'get the job done\\\'... isn\\\'t exactly something worth \\\'wow\\\'-ing about, most of the people can\\\'t stand him, even after \\\'joining\\\' him, Litchi isn\\\'t very supportive or trusting to him, always keeping a wary eye on what he\\\'s planning and not giving him full support as if he\\\'s a charismatic DarkMessiah. And Tsubaki... Hazama had to resort to MindRape in order to keep her in line. Therefore, his personality of the \\\'mild-mannered informant\\\' isn\\\'t exactly a fairly strong one or charismatic enough to warrant a good \\\'performance\\\' or genuine trust. I\\\'m not sure why you call all those his \\\'power ups\\\'... he had them all in his hand, he just doesn\\\'t unleash them very often. If by this \\\'power-up\\\' you mean, \\\"Oh you know what? I\\\'m the creator of the Azure Grimoire and yours is a fake, mine\\\'s the real one!\\\"... well it came off like a sudden AssPull. He even said himself that \\\'sometimes you just gotta pull something out of your ass to save yourself\\\'. THAT is the definition of charismatic? The observation of the timeline, however, also came off like he\\\'s cheating, he saw what\\\'s going to happen in one timeline and had the time to plan ahead. You can say he\\\'s a master planner, but he achieved that via cheating.

By Makoto, it is true that she stopped him once... \\\'\\\'by accident\\\'\\\'. Unfortunately, after that one\\\'s done, Terumi ends up becoming more prepared on Makoto. By Chronophantasma, most of Makoto\\\'s possible interference ends up looking insignificant for the big picture, thus granting more Sue qualities for Terumi. That Idea Engine? In Chronophantasma, Terumi gains a way to shut down the Idea Engine, as seen in his or Ragna\\\'s Arcade Ending, so his blunder becomes moot point. About how the game can\\\'t continue without him, it doesn\\\'t affect whether he\\\'s Sue or not, we have the trope VillainsActHeroesReact for that. Terumi, however, is shown that most of his appearance or losses were caused due to OnlyTheAuthorCanSaveUsNow, \\\'\\\'this is not a good thing\\\'\\\'. Really, things would\\\'ve looked THAT hopeless for Ragna, until the author chucked in Lambda-11 to make a HeroicSacrifice, thus the Idea Engine. And in Chronophantasma, that Idea Engine shutdown advantage only ends up in a \\\'balance\\\' when the Author suddenly decided to say that Kokonoe summons Celica and shuts down his power. Not to mention, even if you probably do not remember, A LOT OF FANS disliked that in CS Arcade, regardless of what you did to him, \\\'\\\'he still wins technically\\\'\\\'. Too much winning streak like that, not to mention too powerful to the point of OnlyTheAuthorCanSaveUsNow aren\\\'t good things, but he had to make it worse by hogging most of the villains limelight that Relius didn\\\'t get much chance to shine. Relius has his fans too, you know.

And lest you forget, Hazama isn\\\'t the one who calls the shot, he \\\'\\\'alternates\\\'\\\' between him or Relius calling the shot. So it\\\'s not all of Hazama\\\'s planning, Relius deserves credits on it too. Getting his hand dirty? He prefers letting others get their hands dirty if preferable... why else would he mind rape Tsubaki into servitude? Why would he lure Litchi to his side? Why would he bring Nu back from the Cauldron? He can have different reasons, but it\\\'ll all boil down to one thing: He just needs extra fodders. Things he never saw coming, such as Bang\\\'s escape, if not because it\\\'s a saving throw initiated by the Author, it\\\'s something irrelevant (okay, so Bang can escape him. What does that have to do with his plan?). The Author is also pretty weird, while it\\\'s not above giving some saving throw for the heroes, the author then retaliates by making the \\\'saving throw\\\' useless (The Idea Engine shutdown) and then thickens his PlotArmor. There\\\'s also this thing that in order for Terumi to succeed... it\\\'s like everyone that he comes across will be handed with IdiotBall, in a story and characterization perspective, this can\\\'t be good. But it kind of shows that Terumi could only work if everyone near him is an idiot or sorts... Why? Because the only thing that could destroy him is... your good ol\\\' ThePowerOfFriendship, ThePowerOfTrust, TrueCompanions, Hope, all that would make Terumi puke. However, the world would never let them have it, so Terumi gets to reign off free. He gets too much luxuries while such luxuries could be wrecked the instant the heroes stopped acting like an idiot or bickering each other.

I\\\'ll also say that maybe a lot of people would say that Terumi is something of a \\\'refreshing breeze\\\' compared to \\\'Sympathetic Villains\\\' since he\\\'s unabashed in his ForTheEvulz tendencies. However, he seriously has no backstory or origin, it\\\'s like one day he appears and then poof he\\\'s evil. At least in Kefka\\\'s case, we were shown his evolution from your typical horrible evil clown into a destructive despicable monster, Terumi just got thrown in and and we\\\'re suddenly being forced to realize that he\\\'s evil incarnate, without any evolution or endearing time in CT. Suddenly, I\\\'m sick of this \\\'No background evil\\\' and misses these \\\'Sympathetic Villain\\\' archetype now...

The people that are sick of him aren\\\'t exactly vocal. But it\\\'s there. Even GameFAQS, the most concentrated place for Terumi hype during the CS era... has since went past that and now they\\\'re also voicing their opposition on how much they\\\'re sick of Terumi. Maybe Relius\\\' appearance had something to do with that. People has been sick that he\\\'s winning all the time, blunders on his plans are turned insignificant and the amount of his flaws aren\\\'t big enough to make him go beyond \\\'No background evil\\\'... his competence only makes things worse. We have yet to see his plan utterly fails that no backup plans (or Relius\\\' interference) can even salvage them. I have no say about the fighting style, it has no bearings on how he stands as a character in the story, and thus how it affects his placing in the Pantheon. And even then, people have also gotten sick of how he continues to be on the Top Tier. Also, since TVTropes are against utter bashing or utter negativity so we have to keep things fair even on Terumi, that\\\'s why we don\\\'t see open insults at him, except acknowledgements of how PURE EVIL he is.

I\\\'m not sure, but isn\\\'t the thing that he feeds is \\\'hatred by the atrocity done by him\\\', instead of \\\'annoyance of how shitty he is\\\'? In fact, I think it\\\'s pretty canon that Terumi WANTS to be acknowledged as \\\'the most awesome being ever\\\', when Rachel remarks that he\\\'s extremely boring and uninteresting (in other words, shitty), he flips off like \\\"How dare you think I\\\'m not cool!\\\". And even then, his allies in the Pantheon were made not out of TrueCompanions or genuine friendship, like how Handsome Jack got the Trollkai Yellow as an insult to his cowardice. Even Bernkastel, one of his biggest ally, has been plotting for his downfall, and all his boasts about taking over were made out of his gigantic ego, something that Gilgamesh laughed at. Furthermore, his ego annoys the hell out of an EldritchAbomination like Perfectio, and then he always thinks he\\\'s the best, not realizing, unlike Bernkastel... that Nyarlathotep simply TOWERS him in terms of dickery and sheer strength. Many evil Gods would want him to fall as well, maybe to get some laugh at how his ego eventually blew up in his face.

For your key points:
* Even if he didn\\\'t perfectly plan it, the Author will be there to \\\'save his ass off\\\' and make the scenario of \\\"OnlyTheAuthorCanSaveUsNow\\\" for him.
* Those aren\\\'t power boost, those are just handicaps for the heroes. Does someone who can only win when his opponents are in a handicap or something is someone that awesome? This is what makes him differ than his orign, SelfDemonstrating/TheJoker, in a bad way for Terumi, Joker kept fighting Batman who probably doesn\\\'t have much handicaps, even if he lost we can still give props to him as a villain.
* Typical VillainsActHeroesReact, in story. However, the Pantheon isn\\\'t his story. In fact, it was stated that Terumi couldn\\\'t even enjoy his own gigantic power that makes him relevant as the Pantheon stores more GenreSavvy characters that would gladly shut his HannibalLecture up. Mid lecture. The trope is pretty common, thus quite the non-factor.
* The uniqueness is, however, overshadowed with with how obnoxious he\\\'s making these \\\'flaws\\\' look like insignificant.
* The groups he made are made not out of genuine bond. Most Gods also take potshots at him, and thinks his overblown ego are plain annoying when there\\\'s some Gods far stronger than him (e.g: Nyarlathotep). Oh by the way, did you realize that Nyarlathotep was actually TheManBehindTheMan for the Trollkaiger? And I don\\\'t recall him in the Council of Shadows... and even then, being there doesn\\\'t guarantee that you won\\\'t fall.
* Search outside TV Tropes, you will find them eventually. Hell, even some in the forum are pretty sick of him too.
* Non-factor to the story.

One thing though that you need to know: The hatred he feeds \\\'\\\'does not come from those beyond the fourth wall\\\'\\\'. Therefore, \\\'liking him\\\' isn\\\'t his weakness.

In closing, Terumi has been the combination of a shallow character story-wise, put on super high position despite his shallowness (I\\\'ve heard people saying that they would\\\'ve taken him better if he\\\'s not the BigBad (no, he\\\'s not TheDragon for the Imperator, he\\\'s playing her as his pawn)), is highly obnoxious, and an InvincibleVillain where anything that goes wrong for him will be remedied quickly... and oversatured with limelight. However... I\\\'ll agree that the most he\\\'ll fall... will be TheFallen, as he managed to garner that much honest followers when he first was introduced. But even his fall... would need to wait until Chronophantasma story is out, that is one game-changer for his position since there\\\'s a chance that the Author won\\\'t bother to save him, if he\\\'s not shown as overpowered and not \\\'always winning\\\'... he will be able to stay.

As this is mostly to reply your post, I haven\\\'t gone in detail in why I think Terumi is shitty. For that, I am personally preparing a writeup titled \\\"Top 10 Reasons Why Terumi Yuuki Sucks Ass\\\" which goes into more details on it. You can defend him all you like, but I will not change my mind about how I think of him, everyone is entitled to their opinions after all.

But... gotta say, good job with that longass post.

But as for the Pantheon itself, it plays to Terumi\\\'s strengths. If everyone is annoyed by him, he is gaining power from every god there, thereby furthering his own existence. He boasts because that\\\'s what he does: he makes his opponents mad at him, makes them come at him with a desire to kill, because it only makes him stronger, thus making those boasts more believable. As for gods plotting his downfall, he does have his own allies in the Pantheon, in addition he also has other spots he\\\'s looking to usurp. He is a major player in many big groups within the Pantheon, and removing him could cause some destabilization of certain groups and individuals.

I\\\'m not sure, but isn\\\'t the thing that he feeds is \\\'hatred by the atrocity done by him\\\', instead of \\\'annoyance of how shitty he is\\\'?
