According to some of the staff from The Walt Disney Company, \\\'\\\'The Rescuers\\\'\\\' (1977) and \\\'\\\'The Rescuers Down Under\\\'\\\' (1990) are both being re-issued directly to DVD & Blu-Ray Disc and Movie Download around 2015 and 2016, as new-and-improved 100% clean versions of both movies\\\' original releases.

The 2015 direct-to-DVD reissue version of \\\'\\\'The Rescuers\\\'\\\' (1977) has the following changes being given:

* The original 1965 Buena Vista Logo was being shown again during the movie\\\'s opening credits, which\\\'ll be just after when the 2006 Walt Disney Pictures Logo was being shown at 30 seconds first. The opening and closing credit sequences from the movie\\\'s original release were being kept intact, although the 2006 Walt Disney Pictures Logo was shown again at the end, which follows the movie\\\'s closing titles.
* The character of a little orphan girl named Penny will have a full mouth of teeth instead of showing some of her teeth missing, just like her appearance in other Disney productions (including \\\'\\\'Rufus & Company\\\'\\\', \\\'\\\'House of Mouse\\\'\\\' revival, \\\'\\\'Bernard & Bianca\\\'s World Tour, Pt. 1\\\'\\\', and others). One of the orphan kids at the end of the movie also shows a full mouth of teeth instead of some of its teeth missing.
* The character of an albatross named Orville has his first goofy yell being altered from the movie\\\'s original release, so it would sound exactly like that of \\\'\\\'The Goofy Holler\\\'\\\' from various Classic Disney animated cartoon shorts where Goofy appears in; at the end of the movie, Orville\\\'s second and final goofy yell from the movie\\\'s original release was being kept intact, however.
* When Bernard & Bianca fly on the back of an albatross named Orville in one of the movie\\\'s sequences, the actual topless model from the movie\\\'s original 1977 theatrical release was being altered, and so it would only be shown in silhouette during two different frames, though the two frames would still be uncut.
* The sound effect of an actual little girl crying was being added and heard while Rufus narrates at the beginning of an entire flashback of one of the movie\\\'s sequences.
* The sound effect of an actual bluebird tweeting was being added and heard while Rufus and Penny tell the poem of \\\'\\\'Faith is a Bluebird\\\'\\\' during an entire flashback of one of the movie\\\'s sequences.
* The animation in the movie appears quite different than being released before, and so it uses \\\'\\\'Toon Boom Animation\\\'\\\' software in the same techniques.
* This version of the movie was being dedicated to Bob Newhart and Eva Gabor, who respectively voiced Bernard and Miss Bianca.

The 2016 direct-to-DVD reissue version of \\\'\\\'The Rescuers Down Under\\\'\\\' (1990) has the following changes being given:

* The opening and closing credits sequences from the movie\\\'s original release were being kept intact, although the 2006 Walt Disney Pictures Logo was being shown before the movie\\\'s opening titles, and again after the movie\\\'s closing titles.
* The animation in the movie appears quite different than being released before, and so it uses Toon Boom Animation software in the same techniques.
* In one of the movie\\\'s sequences, when Mcleach says \\\"There\\\'s more than one way to skin a cat!\\\", the stock sound effect of an evil cat screeching was then being heard while he gets his gun.
* In one of the movie\\\'s sequences, when Mcleach goes to the edge of the waterfall, the stock sound effect of a massive explosion was then being heard.
* This version of the movie was being dedicated to Bob Newhart and Eva Gabor, who respectively voiced Bernard and Miss Bianca.

As of c. 2011/2012, work on \\\"Rufus & Company\\\" (2015) and \\\"Wild Outback\\\" (2016) are both being planned, proposed, and in-progress by Walt Disney Pictures & Walt Disney Animation Studios, and so as 28 of the other entirely-animated motion picture spin-offs of original motion pictures from the \\\"Walt Disney Classics\\\" canon and various Classic Disney animated cartoon shorts. \\\'\\\'Rufus & Company\\\'\\\' was being released theatrically by November 13, 2015 and \\\'\\\'Wild Outback\\\'\\\' was being released theatrically by September 16, 2016.
