I feel the point I was making was missed: the stated power levels are impossible, implausible, and incorrect. As for X-Wings, in video games as well as the movies, they are capable of taking glancing hits from turbolaser batteries, and their deflector shields are able to stop at least one hit if they are focused to a single area (i.e. the front as in the Battle of Yavin).

I think the point being made was missed: the stated power levels are impossible, implausible, and incorrect. As for X-Wings, in video games as well as the movies, they are capable of taking glancing hits from turbolaser batteries, and their deflector shields are able to stop at least one hit if they are focused to a single area (i.e. the front as in the Battle of Yavin).
