This troper was one of the people who many years ago was given an upset by the fact that the video ended mid-way. So thanks to Word of Wiki, the image was found after a long search.

Regarding statements, there is no WordOfGod on that one. But this was one of the images released along with the movie -- the japanese next to the copyright symbol says so. Its\' not available on the regular edition, so its almost certainly from the art gallery of the special edition disk -- many reviews seem to point to that (The special edition had another 20 very high quality pictures...that website in fact has all of them as well). There is Word of Wiki on that one.

But really, if seeing is believing, its CaptainObvious the moment you see it.

Technically this image is what is called LooseCanon as it an effort to connect the \\\"extra\\\" to the main material. To illustrate, if you take this picture (the full image -- its in 2 parts) and place it side by side with the very last scene in the video, you\\\'ll instantly notice that they match up perfectly. Compare these 3 images http://ccs.sky-bound.org/gallery/details.php?image_id=54059 , http://ccs.sky-bound.org/gallery/details.php?image_id=54061 and [[http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ccs27_320.jpg the poster]]

Takeoff, midair, landing...see? Just imagine for a sec if you were the animator. Even if you wanted to show the hug in the video, that\\\'s exactly the pose which you\\\'d end up with either way. Note that the staff in the left hand and Syaoran\\\'s arms in the exact same position as in the video. You can only land so horizontal if you jumped a good distance and were on the descent. One dub video on youtube in fact demonstrated that by putting the image immediately after the video ending. Some youtube videos (which have since been removed) had explained this with the link in the comments.

If that were a comic strip or a manga, that is exactly how two consecutive frames would show a sequence - maintaining compatibility of positions is key in comics to show continuity. Open the 3 images on 3 tabs \\\'\\\'in that same order as mentioned\\\'\\\' and quickly switch between tabs and you see a perfect motion sequence.

No doubt about that -- ItMakesSenseInContext and fans who own or have seen it first hand all accept it as such. The overwhelming majority of the fandom who has seen this (and versions of it), accepts it as LooseCanon because of the context and that it\\\'s an official picture by CLAMP.

Above all, not to mention the whole point of the Second Movie itself is to get to this point. In both the manga & anime, once Sakura hugs Syaoran, the series is over!!

And all that does not include the bonus extra episode after the movie (on the Special Edition) showing the cast, if only for a few seconds, celebrating a tea party at Sakura\\\'s house (now why would that scene be needed for a Kero Chan episode? It wasn\\\'t done in the TV series. And yeah, one can easily guess what they were celebrating over -- the happy ending of course). And it includes Eriol -- he wasn\\\'t around during the movie or anytime between the TV series and the movie, so the only time he can come to Japan is \\\'\\\'after\\\'\\\' the events of the second movie are over). In fact it is even mentioned they hadn\\\'t had a tea party for a long time (since the TV series last episode). But of course since it is LooseCanon all this is valid only IF it is worth considering as part of the story.

This so far is based on available canon & LooseCanon. Besides jumping such a small gap with the Jump Card is now a minor triviality after all that has happened -- it has easily jumped several stories and is capable of feather landings so precise it can land on a dime, from heights that would kill anyone.

BonusMaterial in general is well known for doing things of this sort. Everyone who saw the picture (so far) recognized the continuity. On the net, there\\\'s even more talk on indirect points - best of all Youtube comments, which can sometimes cross the point of FanDumb with colourful language!. Some of these include (but not limited to the following): That gap itself is not very wide at all (a few metres). The Jump card (which she uses on this occasion) has easily crossed much longer and gone much higher than that, over entire buildings. Jump always ensures a safe landing -- even from heights that can easily kill in an ordinary fall. In fact the first time its encountered, it takes her to a huge altitude, from which she has enough free fall time to recite the whole incantation and summon a card with height to spare!
And others: [[spoiler: Repeatedly in the series when Sakura does fall from a height, Syaoran catches her with his wind power and has used it successfully even with barely enough strength to stand. (At the movie end, he had most of his power remaining). In the last episode, when Eriol shoots her down, the cards themselves protect her and break her fall. Not to mention that bridge they formed in the movie...]]

Well that\\\'s all the research and inferences one can extract out of the available data. It was quite amusing to read so I badly wanted to compile it all and put it up somewhere. As a result the main page earned a trope on SlidingScaleOfIdealismVersusCynicism

If you ask me, I personally would choose the very idealistic point on the Scale to enjoy the possibility of HappilyEverAfter, just like the manga, which for its part closes with a proper Happy Ending with no second thoughts needed.

I edited my comment out...we all have our right to point out tropes that differ, but I didn\\\'t want the main page to be turned into a forum page instead. I have no intention to label anyone as a basher or anything, so if that\\\'s how I sounded like, I withdrew some remarks.

In fact it is even mentioned they hadn\\\'t had a tea party for a long time (since the TV series last episode). But of course all this is valid only IF it is worth considering as part of the story.

Well that\\\'s all the research and inferences one can extract out of the available data. I badly wanted to put it up somewhere so I found a place to vent out myself. I chose the very idealistic point on the Scale to enjoy the possibility of HappilyEverAfter, just like the manga, which for its part closes with a proper Happy Ending with no second thoughts needed. PHEW!

Not to mention the whole point of the Second Movie itself is to get to this point. In both the manga & anime, once Sakura hugs Syaoran, the series is over!!

Everyone who saw the picture (so far) instantly recognized the continuity. As such the overwhelming majority of the fandom who has seen this (and versions of it), accepts it because of the context and that it\\\'s an official picture by CLAMP. It was instantly obvious to this troper on seeing it for the first time, and so eventually, it found its way to Tvtropes.

And all that does not include the bonus extra episode after the movie (on the Special Edition) showing the cast, if only for a few seconds, celebrating a tea party at Sakura\'s house (now why would that scene be needed for a Kero Chan episode? It wasn\'t done in the TV series. And yeah, one can easily guess what they were celebrating over -- the happy ending of course). Even more research on indirect points. That gap itself is not very wide at all.

Repeatedly in the series when Sakura does fall from a height, Syaoran catches her with his wind power and has used it successfully even with barely enough strength to stand. (At the movie end, he had most of his power remaining). In the last episode, when Eriol shoots her down, the cards themselves protect her and break her fall. Not to mention that bridge they formed in the movie.

I edited my comment out...we all have our right to point out tropes that differ, but I didn\\\'t want the main page to be turned into a forum page instead. I have no intention to label anyone as a basher or anything, so if that\\\'s how I sounded like, I withdrew some remarks.

If that were a comic strip or a manga, that is exactly how two consecutive frames would show a sequence - maintaining compatibility of positions is key in comics to show continuity. Open the 3 images on 3 tabs \'\'in that same order as mentioned\'\' and quickly switch between tabs and you see a perfect sequence.

Besides everyone who saw this poster instantly recognized the context and the continuity of the positions with the video. I knew it at first glance. Its clearly the ending scene I don\'t think an official statement would be necessary for that...

Regarding backgrounds, the DVD cover is another 2 panel poster with a scene straight out of the film but with an edited background -- movie posters do that often. This image also exists in a lot of edited forms and wallpapers on places, however they all admit they cleaned off all those extras. This is actually the original. Tineye search would show you that.

Besides in all anime, the background changes during a particularly emotional moment. You may also remember that the last scene in the video was taken from a far-off angle from where only the character outlines were visible. The poster is much bigger (it is the biggest image of all on that website) and much more detailed. And this troper has seen every image released with the second movie right down to the artbooks and the movie book -- this is the only image of its kind. You can search 55000 images in that cheerio image gallery.

Producers have various agendas in doing things the way they do...look at the bright side...a poster is what a devoted fan of any media might put up on their room wall...

Finally remember the [[RuleofDrama whole point of the second movie\'s plot]], which is why it drags the suspense till the last minute! If Sakura hugs Syaoran, the story is over! The manga ending is also just that...when Sakura hugs Syaoran, it\'s the end!

Many fans would have loved a {{Denouement}}, but in media there are also shows that end on the climax...that\'s all producer\'s decisions. So if you want to know why CLAMP and Madhouse / Funanimation chose to end it in this unconventional manner, you\'d have to ask them directly ! Lol...

Anyway something\'s better than nothing, so enjoy the crowning moment of heartwarming rather than working yourself up like this....This is exactly what TV tropes is for, to analyse these tropes. So yes, overwhelming majority of the fandom jury who have seen this are on the side of TrailersAlwaysSpoil
