Second opinion here: As someone who had to read the book for school, I would \\\'\\\'strongly\\\'\\\' disagree with whoever put up the DesignatedHero and JerkSue labels for Janie. It\\\'s been some time since I read the book, but I don\\\'t remember Janie ever coming across as jerkish: she ran away from Logan not just because he was \\\"less than perfect\\\", but because he nagged her and didn\\\'t really seem to care about her, and railed against Joe Starks while he was on his deathbed not just because he treated her \\\"less than ideally\\\" but because he tried his damndest best to emotionally dominate her and \\\'\\\'hit her solely for not making him an ideal dinner\\\'\\\'.

As for Tea Cake, I got the impression that Janie was drawn to him not just because he was \\\"tall\\\" but mainly because he actually respected her and treated her like an equal unlike her previous two husbands. A man who genuinely loves and respects his wife and doesn\\\'t force her to do something she doesn\\\'t want to do? [[SarcasmMode Wow, what a]] ShallowLoveInterest / RelationshipSue!

So yeah, the negative bias of this article isn\\\'t a good standard and is misleading to boot about the book. (There\\\'s the possibility that the editor who put them in might have been referring to the movie instead, but I haven\\\'t seen the movie, so I can\\\'t know just how different it is from the book.) Already edited the article to make it fairer.
