To the guy that reverted (and labeled vandalism) the change with news regarding the PS3 being compromised to the level that not even a firmware patch can prevent unauthorized software from running: Anything that allows for homebrew to run automatically allows pirated software to run. [=GeoHotz=] acknowledged it. [=Fail0verflow=] acknowledged it at CCC (where they glossed over how every bit of the PS3\'s security scheme save for two bits is ineffective and/or extremely poorly implemented - the X360 had better security). The recovery of the PRIVATE signing keys (you know, the keys that only SONY is supposed to have) is what [=Fail0verflow=] needed to be able to run *nix on a PS3 Slim and a patched PS3, as with those keys, they can take any code (and even any hardware, with enough effort) and make it appear to be a legitimate licensed sony product to an unmodded PS3, including *nix in any form.
