@/{{Rogue7}}: Argh, this page is begging for a \\\"Hotel California\\\" quote, but I know the general consensus is against two-quote pages, and the one up fits fine. Submitted for your consideration: \\\"Relax said the nightman/we are programmed to receive/you can check out any time you like/ but you can never leave\\\"

@/{{Gemmifer}}: Does anyone know what the song is about? If it\\\'s meaning might include such instances then I\\\'m for adding it, I really like that line.

@/{{MissHap}}: I think the point of the song was that people didn\\\'t know what it was about. A hotel, of course, but there was disagreement about what the hotel represented.

@/{{Scifantasy}}: I thought the title already was a \\\"Hotel California\\\" reference, but that could just be me.

@/{{Rogue7}}: Possibly, but it\\\'s not mentioned anywhere in the article.

@/AnonymousMcCartneyFan: I believe this song is about showbiz, Hollywood-style.

Paul [=McCartney=], in the 1990s, when explaining why he was still making music, said that you couldn\\\'t just stop being a star; you can only become a retired star, and that just makes some fans want to hunt you down more. I believe that the Eagles came to this conclusion by 1977...

Moving some Natter here.

* Wedge and Tycho keep trying to retire and getting called back by the next Really Big Galactic Crisis. They\\\'re getting older. This troper is starting to worry that they\\\'ll be killed off to show that the next one is Big And Serious, Really. Just like all the ones since the Vong war.
** This is not an unreasonable fear given Pellaeon\\\'s death. The man was something like 90 years old for crying out loud!
*** What? What?! Argh! I knew I was right to stop after the Dark Nest Trilogy! Damn it, he was awesome!
**** That being the case and out of respect to his memory, we won\\\'t tell you who killed him. Because it was really really stupid.
