Despite being in the same cinematic universe as the Venom movies, it lacks those films\' SoBadItsGood charms, has little in terms of character development (one character\'s FaceHeelTurn comes out of nowhere), and it suffered the biggest second weekend drop for a Marvel-based film since \'\'Film/FantasticFour2015\'\'. Worst of all, it attempts to hitch its wagon to the more popular Franchise/MarvelCinematicUniverse in the most egregious manner by warping that universe\'s Adrian Toomes from \'\'Film/SpiderManHomecoming\'\' over to this film\'s universe via Doctor Strange\'s spell in \'\'Film/SpiderManNoWayHome\'\', despite being completely contradictory to how the spell was supposed to work (warping residents from other universes back to their original ones), all within the post-credits scenes.
