The movie has gotten very poor reviews from both critics and audiences (16%/12% critic/audience rating on RT (\\\"Nobody\\\'s \\\'\\\'Home\\\'\\\'\\\") and a 3.6 on IMDB) and from what I can tell the consensus among \\\'\\\'Home Alone\\\'\\\' fans is that the series\\\' formula was gotten completely wrong and the slapstick against the antagonists ends up coming off as mean-spirited instead of funny (and the kid becoming an UnintentionallyUnsympathetic DesignatedHero as a result).
