I think even is people believe IS didn’t do a good job in keeping their relevancy(subjective) it’s pretty clear that Alear was meant to be seen as the protagonist with the 4 royals as supporting main characters and Veyle as the SixthRanger main character that joins late game. That’s why I feel they should all be in the same section.

I don’t really feel the main 4 Engage royals are really that comparable to the Fates royals. For starters the Engage royals are marketed as main characters alongside Alear; the protagonist. This is consistent in practically all the marketing, opening cinematic box art, and amount of screen time(even if it’s just them saying dialogue to move the plot forward) the Fates royals were never marketed as main characters just simply factions you can choose from. Not even Xander or Ryoma get the same treatment Engage’s main 4 get(no unique classes, and absent in most of the chapters) This is why they fall out of relevancy way faster in Fates. It was pretty abundantly clear in Fates that Corrin and Azura are the ones IS considered the main characters. Corrin the protagonist and Azura the deuteragonist. Hence why Azura appeared and was available in every route very early. The main 4 Engage royals have way more screen time and overall contribution to the story than the Fates royals(including Ryoma
and Xander). Honestly the younger 4 Engage royals(Alcryst, Céline, Fogado and Hortensia)feel more like the Fates royals. To imply Veyle had the same role as Azura and the Engage royals having the same role as Fates royals is just not accurate. The main 4 Engage royals just have way more screen time, overall contribution to the story, and marketing that tells the contrary. Likewise Veyle spends way too much time not playable, an enemy or not on screen to be seen on the same level of Azura in role. Tbh the younger 4 Engage royals(Alcryst, Céline, Fogado and Hortensia)feel more like the Fates royals.
