I think David Benioff and D. B. Weiss are candidates for this page. They attracted a lot of ire after \'\'Series/GameOfThrones\'\' suffered from SeasonalRot and an infamous finale. A pporly-received Q&A, the controversy surrounding their cancelled TV series \'\'Confederate\'\', and \'\'Film/GeminiMan\'\' (which had Benioff as a screenwriter) [[BoxOfficeBomb bombing]] did not help either. They\'ve become so notorious that people cheered when they left \'\'Star Wars\'\', and they\'ve reached ScapegoatCreator status -- people seem to forget about or just not be aware of the good stuff they\'ve made (e.g. Benioff\'s novels).
