I never really agreed with the example as being any type of political statement. When I watch the scene, I see Thor wanting to try and win favor with scrapper142 because he learns she's an Asgardian, then he notices her Valkyrie tattoo and does an involuntary fan boy gush (since he says he always wanted to be a Valkyrie) which he then awkwardly tries to cover up with his whole

Given that \'\'Thor:Ragnarok \' is essentially a comedy and Taika Waititi has reported on how much of the dialog was improvised, I\'m more inclined to see this as an improvisation that wobbled awkwardly rather than an intentional pro-feminist statement.
