You might want to head over to the Trope Idea Sounding Board in Trope Talk.
So I just recently started to read the "Truth to power through humor" TLP (https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/discussion.php?id=e96tlyoczxs7xqap8pmn9osb) and as it seems to be strictly about humour, I was thinking of another trope for situations where instead of humour, the truth to power is told through art/works/historical stories depicting situations suspiciously similar to the actual, criticized situation - as an added bonus, this gives a flimsy protection against the censors as the creators can claim to only speak about the art, work or history. As far as I understand this should be a new trope, though I would need to look up examples (I only have two examples off the top of my head, I'm afraid), but if there are enough examples, the basic premise of humour versus existing art/history is different enough for a new trope launch pad entry, am I correct?
