Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread

Indeed, we have Renamed Tropes for tropes that have been renamed. Any such tropes should be listed on that page, not on Trope Namers.
Edited by DarkHunterI guess someone should get to it, then.
Space Battles Dot Com fanworks (unnoficial) index in my Sandbox.OK, done. But I noticed a couple more problems too.
In the Literature section, Unaccustomed as I Am to Public Speaking... is attributed to two different authors in different folders, and in the Classic Mythology section, for some reason they have gone out of their way to add lengthy explanations for literally every trope.
Edited by Lermis Space Battles Dot Com fanworks (unnoficial) index in my Sandbox."Unaccustomed as I Am to Public Speaking..." is a tricky one because there are differing accounts as to who said it first. Ovid (author of Metamorphoses) attributes it to Ajax during the Trojan War, while Plato attributes it to Socrates. However, Plato made his claim several hundred years before Ovid did, so I would argue he gets Trope Namer status. Furthermore, the page for UAIATPS itself also cites Plato as the Trope Namer.
As for the latter, I don't think there's anything wrong with adding brief explanations, but why they're doing it on that page and none of the others is puzzling to me.
Edited by DarkHunterNothing in those explanations is "brief". Should I clean that up too?
Space Battles Dot Com fanworks (unnoficial) index in my Sandbox.Done with that too. All the explanations were done by the same person, a Mark FJA. Some of these explanations were only for the sake of being there: they merely said Exactly What It Says on the Tin.

While browsing through the lists of trope namers, I noticed that some entries were still listed even though their name had changed and there's another folder for that. For instance, under Buffy the Vampire Slayer there's "Spikefication" and then in parentheses it says the trope has been renamed.
