Like, black gangsters? The Wire finished its run in 2008, so you might have caught one of the episodes in syndication, but the main character was named Jimmy McNulty, so I don't think that's it.

i watched a few episode almost 10 years ago but i cant remember the name of it. It was an American crime show and one of the main characters was called Bobby, it was about gangsters i think and i dont mean MOB gangsters.
sorry i dont remember a lot about it i was really young.
