Do we have a trope where a character is a mental slave to a villain?
Example:
Alice and the Indigo Force walks up to a heavily defeated Lady Doomsday. As they attempt to arrest her after a destructive battle in San Fransico, Lady Doomsday reveals herself as Charlie, Alice's friend who thought to have died before the formation of the Indigo Force.
Charlie reveals she was taken by Emperor Zul when she drifted in space after Emperor Zul destroyed Alice's spaceship. There, she was torment by Emperor Zul and Doctor Atomic for unknown, warped periods of time. Because of the torment, her will was broken and she was made a mental slave to Emperor Zul.
As a mental slave, Charlie still had free will and choice, however, her train of thought was warped, manipulated and influenced by Emperor Zul and Doctor Atomic, and she had to subconsciously follow her own destructive, corrupted thoughts. She conciously knew she committed atrocious acts of villainy and led a supervillain team, but she knew she had a choice. In conclusion, she had free will and choice, but tainted by dark, destructive thoughts of villainy and chaos under the influence of Emperor Zul.
