No hiding character names with spoiler tags, period. The US is not a special case, once a work is released anywhere in the world then it is free to trope.
Best solution is to add a general spoiler warning at the top of the page, and remove the tags.
A "Spoiler Characters" folder may be used, but character names cannot be concealed inside folders or headers.
In Pokémon Sun and Moon Anime, i noted the following hidden text: "Please don't remove any spoiler tags for new characters until it has aired in the United States."
Following Handling Spoilers, "On Characters pages, do not ever conceal the name of a character in a folder or header. "
The name of a character is concealed, as must I act?
