Could it have been Starstruck? It was an unsold pilot, so it's unlikely, but not impossible, that it could have aired in the UK. It is on Youtube in its entirety, if you want to check out if it's the right thing
Confirmed Bachelors: the dramedy hit of 1883!
So a couple of days ago I randomly remembered an episode of an immensely cheesy live action TV show from my parents' childhoods that they showed me when I was a child. My memory of it is very vague- it is likely from the 1960s-80s and is about a restaurant (or possibly a bar) in space.
In the episode in question, the characters who run the restaurant (one of which is a woman, possibly with pink hair though I can't be sure I'm not making that up!) are preparing the restaurant for two other characters to go on a date there. Part of this (really my only certain memory) is changing the colours of the walls- they go through several colours before the woman says 'No, let's make it intergalactic pink!'.
It might be worth mentioning that we're British, but I can't remember whether or not the actors had British accents.
My parents thought it might be Buck Rogers but I haven't been able to find an episode that matches that description and none of the ones I've watched in my research have rung any bells- it is definitely something of that retro-futuristic, over-the-top ilk, though. There is a possibility that it was a kind of montage show (with the restaurant antics being continuity segments between other clips) as the memory I have is closely associated with my memory of being shown the video for Star Trekkin' by The Firm (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FCARADb9asE), but again, it was so long ago, that it might just be my brain grouping cheesy sci-fi things I saw as a child together.
I know this is incredibly vague, but if anyone is able to help it would be much appreciated! This was the first time I'd ever heard the word 'intergalactic' and it blew my mind so much I used it as much as possible for at least six months. Thank you!
