Pili. It's a Tiawanese (I Think) show that was localised as Wulin Warriors for American audiences. The Dolls are Hella detailed. Like really pretty. It also had one of those rap openings for localisation, which is probably where the wind warriors is coming from.
here's what I remember about it: the animation wasn't exactly stop motion. it was more like someone was manipulating the dolls (they looked like they were supposed to be oriental?) like a puppet. there was no effort to make it seem like they were actually talking, but it looked like someone was holding the legs of the dolls off-screen and was moving them to empathize what was being said and making them 'walk'. I think the theme song kept saying 'we are wind warriors'. and the only real scene I remember was this: character a: *says something about legendary warriors becoming immortalized in the stars* character b: am I one of those warriors? (something like that) character a: you most certainly are not! I saw it at night when I was like 8 or 9. I've been looking for it for years and I cant find anything about it. pleeeeeease let me know if you've seen something like this before. thanks!
