Is there a trope for when the storyteller demonstrates how boned the situation by having an airplane (usually passenger jet, damaged or otherwise) almost casually crash in a populated area? I've seen it a few times but wasn't sure if it was a specific thing.
Examples:
- In Vanishing on 7th Street, it is used as a Meaningful Background Event and jumpscare.
- In the music video for "I Will Follow You", a passenger jet crashes into a neighborhood that Oli is happily wandering through, amid other chaos and carnage.
