I've never seen it, but it may be Jim Henson's The Cube, an experimental made-for-TV special on NBC in the 1970s. www.imdb.com/title/tt0291118/

I believe this movie is titled “Galaxy of Horrors” the movie is about a man who is trapped in a failing cryogenic pod and forced to watch several odd clips, one of which seems to be the clip you are describing
I remember a man trapped in a metal room with wires attached to his head. he is looking through cards desperate to find the correct number to pay the computer as it is counting down and removing is faculties then eventually his life.
In one scene i recall a wall of safety deposit boxes that are on a lift system so you can cycle through them.
when he moves around the room he has to drag the cables he is attached to.
this may have been a short interwoven into a show where this was not the main theme.
