Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help. It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread for ongoing cleanup projects.

Courtesy link. And from what I understand of the page, you're supposed to explain exactly what it needs via a short sentence. Otherwise nobody knows what's going on. That seems like the reason some are commented out.

You're supposed to add context, but not everyone has, and of course the purpose of the list is to alert people to pages that are in need of improvement. If one lists a page, even without any context, someone else can see that listing, look at it, and think about what to do with it. If a page is commented out, the chances of anyone seeing it and improving it are pretty much 0%. The Needs Wiki Magic Love page is not a trope page or a work page and the ZCE rule should not apply.

This was first done by Crossover-Enthusiast in November 2016 with the edit reason "%% things that didn't have a description of what the page actually needed help with, and italicized work pages that weren't before."

I agree that this change should not have been made in the first place.

I can confirm it was never brought through the ZCE cleanup thread. I've asked there with all the relevant information on what should be done. Should be easy enough and fast enough to reach a proper consensus before making any unilateral changes.

Hi. I was commenting under the assumption that Needs Wiki Magic Love wasn't exempt from the ZCE rules, so sorry about that. Some of them were actually red links, though. I also would like to mention that I right to comment out "Zest": it's a red link that doesn't have any indication of where it could be.

^I agree with you that red links shouldn't be on that list. After all it's for pages that need help, not pages that don't exist.

I suspect the redlinks are where people thought this was a "please create this page" page.

Aside from that, yes, no reason for context. Context is for tropes. This isn't a trope—it's hopefully not even a permanent condition! :)

Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee.

I'll go ahead and un-comment those pages, then. And I'll delete any red links.
