I feel sure we have this one, but I'm not certain... it's when one character, often a mentor, gives a sort of "illustrated metaphor lesson" to someone they're with. It's hard to describe, but easy with examples: The scene in a A Bugs Life, for example, where Flik hands Dot a seed (well, rock) and explains to her how she's like the seed; she'll be a big tree some day, but she needs time to grow. It can also be done by villains as a coy way of them explaining their evil plans; the scene in the Disney The Hunchback Of Notre Dame, for example, where Frollo uses an ant's nest as a metaphor for finding (and crushing) the gypsy hideout in front of Quasimodo.
