by Wax, just in the way the chorus is structured and how it sounds. It also reminded me a little of 15 Dreams by New Politics: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bxZQ_Gc21SY. Maybe the line "I'm just man living in a machine" reminded me of the destiny line.

The song has kind of a Smash Mouth feel to me, and their song Stay Home from the Shreck soundtrack starts with "I believe in self-assertion, Destiny or slight diversion.."

This song (from the Lorax) reminds me of a pop song or something I've heard. It's specifically the "I'm just doing what comes naturally" and "I'm just following my destiny." Maybe it's the destiny line? I feel like I've heard "You know it's my destiny!" to the same tune. Or it may just be the tune I've heard somewhere. Help
