It was The Ambushers! So glad you it was found after my vague details. The Silencers looks sort of up my street, so I'll give that a watch too. Thanks!
Shown on Channel 5 in the UK maybe a year or so ago. Probably made mid 70's to mid to late 80's. It's a James Bond spoof comedy. Only saw it from half way through though. The main character is storming the villains compound, as a makeshift weapon he takes off his belt and gets it cold under a waterfall and attacks guards in red jumpsuits with it like a sword.
I believe the name was Un/Im*ables. Searched on imdb but didn't find anything.
