We have Attending Your Own Funeral but I think there was one that fit your description a bit better...

Yeah, I looked at all of the funeral tropes, nothing really seemed to fit. The crucial difference to Attending Your Own Funeral being that, in this case, it's only the audience being misled.
Our heroes get in a big fight, and one of them gets shot or some other probably fatal event. The remaining heroes win the fight and run to help their fallen comrade with some CPR. Fade to black...
The next scene begins with the remaining heroes standing in front of a gravestone, tears running down their faces. We don't see the name written on the gravestone. Then, the fallen comrade steps into shot next to them! Cut to the gravestone, engraved with the name of a (usually lesser) character who died earlier in the movie/episode.
Seems like a strong case for Do We Have This One but I haven't been able to track it down due to spoiler-laden death tropes. Dead Herring doesn't seem to fit.
