This was a book where when you play the game you have to actually do the scenario from the game (most of what I remember was in a jungle.) There were enemy 'pieces' which included a giant spider. Their weakness was water, when they got wet they became tiny and turned back into game pieces, and went back to the board. The main character(s) beat the game by getting the board wet. This was not Zathura or Jumanji.
