Bump?
The way the world is, I think a silly evening in the theatre is a good thing, to take our minds off terror. -Tim CurryIs #2 this song from Our Dinosaur Friends?
Edited by Bananaquit Confirmed Bachelors: the dramedy hit of 1883!That song is somewhat reminiscent of the song I remember, especially the low voice and drumbeats. But I don't remember the 'Asian' sort of beat. I would say that's just me mis-remembering but I DISTINCTLY remember the lyric "teeth sharp like steak knives" being in the song and how it frightened me. Thanks so much for your help in any case.
The way the world is, I think a silly evening in the theatre is a good thing, to take our minds off terror. -Tim CurryGoogling for "teeth sharp like steak knives" turns up several pages (here's one) with a set of lyrics that include the refrain:
Unfortunately, none of them seem to have any source information.
I don't remember the other lyrics, but the one I do recall is so distinct that I think this might be it. The chorus sounds like it would fit the beat I remember. If only I could find the recording! But thanks, I think you've got it.

When my preschool was really into teaching us about dinosaurs, way back in the early 90's, two odd things stuck with me. First one's an animated short they showed us at some dinosaur museum we went to (the name of the museum escapes me, so that won't help. It was a traveling exhibit with animatronic dinosaurs and a big, scary prehistoric bird.) Anyway the short was, I think, stop motion and took place outdoors in a leafy forest. The background was meant to be realistic and it showed the evolution of man. A series of dissolves took us from a crouching hominid to 'modern man' with bear, loincloth, and I think a spear. A solemn narrator, who I think was male, described each stage of evolution. The animation looked older, like it could have come from the 70's. Second is a song we used to listen to in class, again in the early 90's, on some dinosaur themed record or tape. This one song used to scare the be-jeezus out of me, it was a loud, ominous song with a lot of repeated words by a male singer doing a growly 'mad' voice. I remember pounding drumbeats in the back and the singer chanting "Tyrannosaurus, Tyrannosaurus Rex, TEETH SHARP LIKE STEAK KNIVES, Tyrannosauuuuurus!" Hope someone can help.
