The Clue of the Linoleum Lederhosen from the Pals In Peril/MT Andersons Thrilling Tales?
- Lily explained, "Katie and I know from our piano lessons—""—and I know,” said Jasper, “from my theremin lessons—"“—that the notes of the scale begin Do, Re, Mi. What she was really saying was 'It's Mi,' which is the nickname her brothers and sisters call her."

thanks, I think it is
Kids mystery novel where the culprit was a group of siblings using the musical scale as nicknames. There's a scene that's like "It's me!" Later revealed to be "It's mi!"
There's also a scene where in order to not suffocate to death the protag(? One of them I think?) Forces himself to sneeze.
The blub on the back also has a excerpt that flat out does not happen. Like the cast running from an erupting volcano with an asterisk that says something like volcano may have calmed down
