openObscure fantasy novel with 2 girls Literature
Way back when I remember getting a book from the library about 2 high school girls from our world getting sucked into a fantasy world of a book. I think that maybe one of them had written the world into existence, but I'm not sure about that detail. The 2 girls really didn't like each other in the "real" world (one of them was "popular" and the other was "nerdy") but they became good friends by the end.
There was some kind of prophecy, and they were trained by a wizard who ended up dying during a struggle in a swamp. One of the girls ended up with a baby dragon I think. Before the final battle one of them was captured by the villain, who was a nasty witch with long nails (of all the things to remember, right?) and the other went to rescue her and the fight was in a tower.
In the end one of them decided to stay in the fantasy world, and the other went home. There was also a boy involved in there somewhere, but I don't remember much about him.
I have not heard of this book since I read it, I don't think it was very popular. I think the title may have been long and/or witty. Please help me remember, this has been bugging me for years!
openD&D toon
Since my first mystery was solved, maybe someone can help me solve another. At some point in the 80's, maybe between 84 and 87, when I was between 5 and 8 years old, there was a D&D series on. I'm sure it was D&D because I wasn't allowed to watch it because of all the retarded stupidity surrounding the game, so I had to sneak watch whenever I could. It was definitely not the version that Fox Kids played. I watched some of that a while back and the characters and annimation was wrong. The animation was a style that you really don't see anymore. Like Lord of the Rings from '79 or The Last Unicorn. The one character that stuck in my head was the wizard. He was blonde and dressed in red robes. I haven't been able to find any trace of this toon and I'm sure I didnt imagine it. It was D&D or D&D like. Sound familiar to anyone?
openWhat movie is this? Film
A friend's kiddo wants to watch the show with the little girl and the green frog and the orange frog who has a hat. Its a movie and they are trying to find the white thing. Any idea what it is? We only have kids Netflix where he could have seen it... talk about puzzles!
openPsychedellic PC Game Videogame
One summer at a programming camp, my instructor was playing this really trippy 3D platformer. It had something to do with mushrooms. Anyways, it was on PC, I can't find the game on Steam, the objective of the game was to collect objects (i can't remember if they were mushrooms or crystals.) Like I said, 3D platformer. It was set in a... a small village, I think? It was either a village or a ranch. No NP Cs, it looked like. There were giant mushrooms. I just can't remember the name!
openSuperhero show with unusual annimation
I've been trying to remember the name of this superhero toon that I think aired in the late 90's/early 2000's and it was suggested I try here. It was about four or five people in their late teens/early twenties who I think were science experiments of these sub dimensional aliens or something who, of course, were trying to take over the Earth. There were either 2 girls and 3 guys or 2 girls and 2 guys, I can't remember. Anyway, they escaped and, along with their mentor, a man with white hair, were trying to prevent the aliens (who disguised themselves as Humans) from taking over the Earth with the special powers they had been given. They could even enter the Alien sub dimension by putting themselves in a sleep/trance state and astral projecting or something. They lived in New York in the flat iron building or a building that looked very much like it. Also, the animation was unusual. It looked like they were shimmering or something, like a type of flash animation. There's actually an episode of Glee from the final season, I think, where they did this bit with Sue chasing Glee kids around the school and everyone was animated. Family Guy did something similar once where Chris is in a supermarket and gets pulled into a music video where he and some guy/girl ( can't remember) are getting chased around by a cop I think. If anyone remembers that Glee/Family Guy ep, the show I'm looking for was animated in that type of style. Does this thing any bells for anyone? I think it was airing around the same time that Cybersix was, if anyone remembers that particular show.
openmovie kid hated Film
I remember there was some movie some kid was talking to me about in about 1995 that he said he hated so much he refused to watch any other movie that had any of the actors from it in it. Any idea what this could be?
openA film I watched as a child
I remember a film that I watched with my grandmother once on television, though I don't know if it was made for TV or not. It was about two boys who decide to get their own horse, so they, along with a female friend, stow away in the back their elder brother's car as he goes on a road trip. They end up foiling some evil plan. It would be wonderful if anyone remembered the film or what is was called.
openOld horror or thriller movie Film
Anyone knows what this may be? Old movie, probably in black and white, about a group of men and women trapped in a house, and there's a human like creature locked in a room which they're afraid of. I think at some point someone becomes trapped with it. The door had a screen or something so you could see the guything's silhouette behind whennit got closer. I say guy cause I'm not sure if it was a man or a monster, although the other people certainly acted as if it was the latter. I don't remembered much more...
openAdult Swim 3d short cartoon
I've been searching for years for a cartoon with 3d animation that used to air late at night in Brazil and was from Adult Swim. I'm not sure about all of this but i think it had a homeless man, a little girl and a giant cat and the ending scene was with a lot of people dancing in some place with a foutain i think and someone would fall into the fountain and they would stop to look and then start dancing again. P.s i think it had no lines
openAnimated
So a while ago I was watching a show that was animated where these I think teenagers and cubes that contained monsters, well some of them, other cinders such as the Vitus and supernova cube did other things, the supernova one exploded, the Vitus one made water move up and stead of down. There were a lot of cool things, I also remember there being a library and they had to train and fight that is all I really want to remember the name.
openGory Cartoon
I remember when I was about 4 or 5, so about 2005 or 2006, I remember getting on the computer to play games. On nickelodeon.com I was playing a game when a full page ad came up talking about some gory cartoon show. I couldn't find the X so I clicked on the ad. It brought me to a page where all it showed was a graffitied brick wall with a bunch of short people/kids in front getting mutilated. (Things like getting their intestines ripped out, eyeballs ripped out, brain getting shot out.) And I was scared so I exited. About a week later my dad took me to K-mart and when we passed by the dvd section, I saw the show. It was the same brick wall with the same people. I asked my dad what it was, and he said not to worry about it. I haven't seen it since, nor can I find it anywhere on the internet it seems.
openBritish Children's TV Show
It was probably broadcasted around 2006-2009. It involved teams of children who were locked into separate rooms of different colours with only a bookcase and a computer. They were given challenges to do against each other one at time. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know! Thanks!
openOwl as a present ~ Name That Show
Okay so there was this really funny show that was on and all I can remember is that there was a group of people in a den and I'm guessing it was their mother's birthday or Christmas. Anyway they were all exchanging gifts and I guess they made a game out of it. One of the son's had brought his fiance and nobody liked her especially the mom, so when the people started exchanging gifts the mom and the fiance started to pick at each other and say snide comments. The fiance knew that the mother liked owls so when she eventually got the owl she said that she'd keep it in spite of the mother.
Then the scene changed and this guy is going on a date, he's a gay guy and I think there's some sort of problem like he thought the other guy was gay but he's not picking up the bait.
That's all I can remember, does anyone know the name of the show and what network it was on?
openCartoon about a girl and a whale
I'm looking for a cartoon I used to watch when I was a kid, the only thing I remember is that the girl was some kind of princess, and she swimmed with a whale,If i'm not mistaken they talked to eachother through telepaty I think, also, the girl was dressed in dark pink
openWhat Song Was It? Music
I'm trying to find a song that I heard earlier today. I can only recall part of the intro and chorus, though. The intro went something like: "I got this feeling/ Inside my bones/ It goes electric baby when I turn it on." Some of the chorus was: "I got that sunshine/ In my pocket." And that's all I remember. Any help?
openAn Anime with an Older brother, a ten year sister, a forest, and maybe (red) butterflies Anime
I saw the page for it on tvtropes, and I think that the brother had to protect the sister either because of some powers of hers or others, or from this forest. Maybe they were orphans. I only read the front page of the tvtropes cover.
openScifi anime robot/alien Anime

openBritish kids TV show with a guy in some videotapes?
Okay so I remember watching a British kids show in the late 2000s/ early 2010s. I don't remember much about the show but it featured a man who had fallen into a big room full of video tapes, and I think that each episode he would play a video tape and it contained some kind of sketch. On one of the episodes I remember him talking about all the different shaped bruises he had from the fall, like one in the shape of the Eiffel Tower. He was quite young and had dark hair. I believe it may have been a comedy sketch show, probably on CBBC as I watched that channel a lot. I'm going crazy trying to remember!!
openCops sing to a monkey who slaps/punches them Film
I think it was a film although might have been a TV show. Looked like it was from the 70s or 80s. At one point some monkey / chimp is behind the wheel of the car (I think ... somewhere they don't want him, anyway) so these two cops try a bunch of stuff to coax him out, and won't guy. Finally one says like "Let's try singing to him, it'll make him docile" and they sing "by the light of the silvery moon" and then the monkey just beyotchslaps the crap out of them. Tried googling but since there actually is a movie by that title, that's all that ever popped up on the searches.
In the middle of the night I woke up and my tv was on. There was a show that was hilarious. I was enjoying it so much I never checked the title. All I can remember is "Stories of the residents of..." The episode was about a gay couple that adopted an African little girl that was mute. They threw a birthday party and there was a squirrel or racoon climbing up the tree then the little girl killed it with a spear xD then another episode a female Asian but her finger up her butt then it got stained so she washed her hands a billion times trying to get it off but failed so she ended up cutting her finger off. I really enjoyed it but all I can remember is "the stories of the residents of..."
