openA handful of British children's songs?
Okay, I went to school in England when I was about four through six and they had a bunch of songs. I was wondering if you could identify and lead me to them. I only know a few scatterings of lyrics.
- Down in my tummy I'm feeling so hungry and (can't remember) for lovely food. What's on the menu for lunchtime today?
- Nobody's a nobody as God wants us to see 'cause everybody's somebody and that means even me
- Wet day, wet play
- Once in a while, every now and then, let's go and tidy up the mess again (a whole lot of lyrics I don't know) Pick them up, put them back
- Conkers, lots of lovely conkers, I want a conker that's much bigger than the rest.
openBook that was a collection of weird, twist ending stories by one author Literature
All the stories in the book were written by one author. They all had some kind of twist to them. I can remember some of the stories in detail. In the first one a boy looks for a man made of water in the desert so his father can get rich and he finds one, but he searched for so long that he is dying of thirst and the water man lets him drink him until there is almost nothing left, so he decides not to tell his father about it. In another, the second one which is really short compared to the rest, someone invents a truth detector machine and uses it on a popular girl and uses it to ask her if her crush is x guy, has brown eyes, has x color eyes, and finally if he is in the room (she says yes), and at the end the protagonist looks around and sees everyone has either brown or x eyes and finds out he is her crush, cause he has blue or green eyes.
Other ones: something with a boy with a live grandpa and dead grandma who keeps her stopwatch ticking after her death but loses it one day, fat guy uses a spell to transfer everything he eats to the stomach of people who make fun of him but at the end all the stuff he transferred comes back to him, something with a boy and a lizard tail and he eats it or something which makes his limbs able to be ripped off easily and regenerated like a lizard tail, boy who buys something from a store which magically attracts garbage so he runs away from all the garbage in the whole city until he finally drops the thing, boy and friend tries to save a fish or marine animal by keeping it in water and dumping it to the ocean which is really far away but it's actually just a toy set up by his father, boy is hung up over mother's death and is overprotective of her hat and goes to extremes to get it back if it is at risk but at the end he sacrifices it to save some animals that his father was going to kill and they reconcile as the hat floats away across the ocean, one where this boy gets some disease from a bug or cockroach so he hides in the forest for a really long time all the while threatening that he will eat the cockroach when he gets out of there, one where boy's grandpa in the mental ward tells him to prove the existence of some creature that he rambles about so he can get out of the mental ward so he goes into some cave to take a picture of it but the evidence gets destroyed. Also one that I'm not sure is from this book, where two boys get mad at some guy that is going to get their dad to lose their job because he stole or hid something, and they go underground or mining to find it but he traps them or tricks them somehow,
openUnknown
I'm searching for an educational kids tv show from the 90s. It was narrated. The narrator knew all the answers, but there was a gimmick lizard who would always make up some crazy absurd version of things. The lizard was always proven wrong, but I remember one episode where the lizard had a theory that was partly true in some respect and he was given partial credit for answering the question of where did the dinosaurs go. The lizard said they became dragons and flew away. Of course the answer is they evolved into birds
openName of a children's series Live Action TV
The main character was a boy who liked to play with legos, but his father kept stepping on them and hurting himself, so the boy started playing with imginary legos instead. The viewers could see what he was imagining as he would walk through the world he imagined (still in live action). I remember a scene where one imaginary character (played by a gorwn up man) needed to rol a 7 on a die for some reason, the boy drew an extra dot on the 6-face.
The series aired in Norway somtime in the late 90s or early 2000s, it was probably dubbed, but I can't remember for sure.
openRent homage
So I was just watching RENT the film, and there was a part in it that I suddenly noticed, "OMG, in X they totally did an homage to that." But now I can't remember what X is to add it. Anyone else noticed it?
Edited by lakingsifopenRobot Girl Film
I remember seeing this movie as a child that scared the crap out of me. I can only remember the first 15 or so minutes. So, there was this guy who wanted to get his daughter a robot-doll-thingy and it had this realistic sounding voice. Then, something happened and the guy threw the robot-doll into a car and tried to pull out the doll's batteries and it screamed bloody murder. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?
openHero's Journey parody Web Original
I remember this video fairly vividly even though it's been lost to me for a long time. The gist of it is that it's a guide to the Hero's Journey a la Campbell... but told through the story of a man who turns into a were-bobcat whenever he masturbates while thinking about his ex-wife who fights the mob to save an orphanage (IIRC). It was hilariously awkward while also being a vivid illustration of how flexible the Journey is. Unfortunately trying to search for key words when it's things like "hero's journey video + bobcat man" has proven fruitless in the times I've tried. Anyone else remember this or know the title?
openFantasy assassin novel Literature
Male main character stereotypical fantasy assassin type had a friend who may or may not have been imaginary (no one else could see her or hear her) and shadows where a support important element of the story. I think it was a series. Was NOT night angel trilogy.
openTV show Cartoon Network
I am looking for the name of an old TV show. It was a TV show on Cartoon Network. (or Nickelodeon but I'm pretty sure it was CN) It was about a brother and a sister who were secretly superheroes. (I think) There is one short scene I remember: the sister was sick in bed and called her brother. She said that there was really something wrong because she was never sick. She told him she was drinking a lot of water and tea. (I don't know if it helps but it's something) I thought it had something to do with a monster in the sewers but I'm not sure. And I thought the name started with a G. Something like: The G ... or: G ... Does anyone know the name because I've been looking for it a really long time XD THANK U!
Edited by AMomentOfArtopenThe OTHER Lazy Town
I remember when I first saw the the "You are a pirate" meme and saw it was from some kids show called Lazy Town. This confused me because i remembered another Lazy Town from my childhood that was at least popular in the 90's. Unlike the Lazy Town that everyone knows know, this one was a cartoon of some sort. Im not quite sure if it was in the form of a picture book or a television show, but it at least branched out into a PC game for classic windows and maybe DOS. But according to google and wikipedia this show never existed and im just a tad freaked out. I can't remember very much about the media. I have a good feeling that at least some if not all of the characters were anthropomorphic animals, I think I remember a helicopter (might be a misplaced memory) and a lesser feeling that some of them lived in giant fruits or maybe all kinds of different foods (probably not true). Oddly enough the thing I remember the most was the PC game. There was a driving minigame in it where if you accidentally ran into something the town police officer would come and arrest you. But strangely enough if you picked the fire truck, your job was to get to the fire, and if you crashed into peoples stuff nothing would happen, and quite honestly I had a bit of fun driving it around the 2d map running into peoples stuff. Could I have just gotten the name wrong? Im pretty sure it at least had "town" at the end of it.
open" a young boy marked for execution"
I'm not sure if this is from a game, book, movie or even just a dream I had but I remember this bit where some Wise Old Man type character is narrating about how this one time he saved a "young boy marked for execution". for some reason my main thought is something Attrus from Myst said but I can't remember where in the game he says that if anywhere. A google search for that phrase turned up nothing.
Edited by BootlebatopenAn educational series I watched in high school Live Action TV
Another show I've been searching for, for a long time was an educational series about math (multiplication and stuff), there was a ghost(i think) and a male lead and female lead. they were in their mid to late teens, so the premise was simple, they needed to get out of the school and they had to use math to solve the puzzles and escape. It was likely made in the nineties or early 2000's because i watched it in 2008/9 and it was on VHS. it was actually very fun to watch and we never got to see the ending. it's been stuck in my head for years, Any help finding it would be great.
openthis wierd show where 2 kids are robots without their knowledge Live Action TV
I remember tuning into what I beleive was Fox Kids or perhaps Fox Family (very unlikely). This was sometime in the mid 90's I beleive, possibly 97. There was this wierd live action episode of some show I can't identify where 2 kids are in a dark-ishly lit building. Not sure if it was a labratory, a warehouse, or just a simple building that was kindof dark inside. One is a boy and the other is a girl. I can't quite remember correctly, but I think the boy might have found out that he was a robot and was looking for answers from a man in that building, and the girl was following him for whatever reason, and I think she beleived she was a human. What I do remember well enough was the man he might have been looking appearing and shutting him off with a controller. The girl sees this and begs him to reverse this, and he shuts her off too. I think the girl beleived this man was her father, or perhaps a family member. I'm pretty sure that was either the end of the episode, or right when a commercial break happened, but I dont remember what happened next. i think I was too emotionally disturbed by it as a kid to want to watch more. Can anyone remember what show this was?
openI dont Know
I can't remember this show I watched when I was younger and it had these two girls, they possibly may have been sister, well one was evil the other one was good. And I remember one episode, the evil girl took a test to see how evil she was and the good one did it for fun. Turns out the evil one didn't do too well and the good one got a good grade, so the evil one tried to find out how she did so good so she hanged around her and look trough her stuff. At the end the evil girl finds out the good girl just mad a drawing out of the multiple chose answer sheet.
openI can't remember a tv show and I really need help badly
So I remember a tv show and I can't remember the name. The main character is a blonde character with some armor on. It is kinda like Kiba but the main characters spirit won't be used for fighting unless the user is attacked. The spirit is like a slot in the main characters arm either in his arm or on a armband I can't remember too well. It was on cartoonetwork or nicolodeon I can't remember. If anyone has any idea please tell me
openPokémon Episode I can't remember the name of Anime
I remember this Pokémon episode about a Pokémon who was emotionally attached to this red scarf. The Pokémon was some sort of Grass or Leaf type, and was living in a Pokémon center of some kind due to it being too afraid to interact with many people. There was a flashback to it bonding with the person who gave it the scarf after the person noticed it peering at them from around a doorway. Then, in the present, Team Rocket arrives and tries to steal the Pokémon at the center, and this Pokémon with the scarf is the only one who can stop them. However, Team Rocket steals the scarf, leaving the Pokémon devastated. However, her friend encourages it to fight without the scarf, and team rocket is defeated. Anyone know what episode this is? I've looked in the Recap section but I'm not sure what the episode title was, or which version of the anime.
open70s/80s British Sci Fi Live Action TV
Hi, in what was probably the late 70s or early 80s I watched what I believe was a few episodes of a British sci fi series (although my memory may be so flawed that it was a movie) and the images I have from is are: - it was post-apocalyptic - all the survivors were living underground in a big complex - all the women wore silver metallic wigs (like the green ones from moonbase on UFO), I think because they were all bald - except for the protagonist who had long dark hair that she had to keep hiding under her silver wig so that no one knew she was different - she came out onto the surface through a manhole and went exploring
Ring any bells for anyone?
Thanks in advance.
UPDATE: I found it!
I'm looking for a dinosaur cartoon I watched when I was a kid (it must have been from the 80's/90's/early 2000's). It might have been a show centered around a group of young dinosaurs. I remember one particular episode (or perhaps movie) where one dinosaur has a tooth (think it was a tooth) on a string around it's neck, and I think the group of dinosaurs travel to throw it into a volcano, maybe for good luck I don't remember. There was also at least one "bad" dinosaur that gets in their way. I think it was an Ankylosaurus. They all meet on a ledge on the side of a volcano/mountain (or was it inside a cave?) and the Ankylosaurus blocks their way. I remember it as if the "bad" dinosaur smashes its tail against the wall, so that rocks fall and everything shakes and they all come close to falling down, and the "bad" one almost gets hurt but the group helps it.
