openWintery Anime Death Scene Anime
I have a dim memory of a few minutes of an anime from the early 2000's. There was a character, possibly a child or young teenager, being hunted because of their anomalous powers, where they could manipulate ice, to some extent, but their lack of control made them a danger to others. Eventually, the person in question is cornered outside in the snow and darkness, leaving a few seconds of tense silence, before a gory discretion shot cuts to a sillhouette or shadowed shot, the sound of ice impaling flesh is heard, and blood splatters across the snow.
Some cursory searching keeps pointing me to s-CRY-ed but I can't definitely find anything in the show that resembles this scene. I believe I saw it on Adult Swim back in the day.
openReggae(ish?) song
I heard this song today and I'm pretty sure I've heard it several times before, though I'm not sure how long ago.
I'm not familiar with reggae subgenres and styles (or electronic and pop for that matter), but it's a sort of reggae-ish mixed with some kind of techno/dance/pop (or maybe British garage?) with lyrics that go like "(something, something) one by one" followed by two similar sounding lines, ending with "two by two" and "three by three". I also think the word "family" is in there.
It has a male vocalist who sounds sort of like Shaggy or Sean Paul (and may be one of them for all I know).
Google turns up nothing.
It's not T.O.K. - Top A Tappa, unless there's some techno/dance remix of it that got airplay.
Edit: Gah, forgot to use the "Music" category.
Edited by supergodopenAuto racing dubbed in english during the 90s Anime
Sometime around the early 90s, I watched a show that I'm convinced was a dub of an anime but have never been able to figure out which it was due to the Anglicized names of basically everything and everyone and running for quite a short time, so as far as I know, none of it survived to reach the Internet. It was about auto racing, but it was newer than Speed Racer and I'm almost positive it was not Cyber Formula or any of its derivatives. It involved professionals and racing teams (this wasn't Initial D either, in other words). Time has faded my memory of the cars involved but I know they either reminded me of Lamborghinis or open wheel (Formula 1 style) cars - no weird gadgets or flying. I know it aired on either The Family Channel, YTV or Disney (yeah right) because I could only watch those channels when I was on vacation with my family near the beach. I also seem to remember one of the antagonists being "Team Ruth(less?)". Any help here would be hot!
openCD COVER Music
I was in a music store once and I saw this weird cover. I cannot remember the band or songs, but I think it was alternative rock. The cover had a green faced boy with teeth wear standing by himself, with a frown, starring at three people (a woman, man, and girl, or two boys and a girl, don't know their ages) looking at him, laughing, meanly. I think they also had green faces. I think the band was Bucktooth, or something like that. Can anyone please help? I know this is very strange, but I want to know this. I know I did not imagine it. I saw this in the store around 2001-02.
openTasty kid
I remember a website/app that was titled something like tasty kid ( yes this should be a somewhat easy one) that askedmyou what you liked ( comparing a video game to a videogame, or a movie to a movie, Ect) and showed you what you might also like. I would appreciate a link. Can't seem to find it.
openPossibly an mtv challenge episode Live Action TV
So this was a number of years ago and I was younger so the details are slightly fuzzy. It's possible it was one of the older episodes of the MTV show The Challange. All I remember is that a group of people was split into two teams. When they arrived in their location which was desert like, each team had to select one person who had to strip down to a bathing suit and get into a tub. Once that Person was in there, multiple tubs of different kinds of gross and crawling bugs were poured on them. The other team members then had to essentially lick the bugs off of that person and use their mouths to transfer them to a large plastic container and the first one to fill it to a certain line won. The most distinct part was at the end one girl who had been covered in bugs was like cleaning off and someone noticed there was another one climbing up on her inner thigh and she kinda squealed until it was off. I'm hoping someone can tell me if this was an episode of the challenge, or what show for that matter, and what season and stuff. Thanks.
openNick Jr Short from late 90s Western Animation
t was a one-shot short, traditional animation. Possibly UK/AUS origin, aired around 1998-2000 on Nick Jr. It was about a little girl with red hair and a group of animal friends, one was a pig I remember. They were on a beach and trying to get into a seaside shop/snack shack and weren't allowed in, probably b/c of a no-animals policy. They tried to sneak in via the trench coat totem pole. At the end they gorged on snacks (presumably from the shop) and it ended with them being full from gorging on snacks. It was not Maggie and the Ferocious Beast.
Edited by DinkySwanopenDrama about Shakespearean actors Film
This is a live-action movie from the late-90s/early-mid '00s, I think. From what I recall, it's about a Shakespearean actor who typically plays female roles, but is replaced by a female actor (I think it was set around the time when women started performing on stage, rather than just men). The one scene I remember is them practising the scene from "Othello" where Desdemona is murdered. The male actor, I think, performs the role first, with the typical swooning and exaggerated death; however, someone (the director?) complains it isn't realistic. The female actress performs next, making the death scene realistic (screaming, fighting off Othello, etc.). Not much to go on, but I know it was a fairly mainstream movie (rented it from the video store).
openArcheology story Western Animation
I just remembered there is a show I can not remember... I saw it few years ago, it was about two boys and their uncles, archeologists. The boys knew a girl, I think she was a ghost or some kind of fairy. They had special amulet/something similar, that, if I remember it well, helped im travel in time. In every episode they found some treasure or other discovery. The main villain had daughter or cousin. She was very agile and allways chewed bubblegum. In one episode, the uncles were captured and did something with chess, they played it and I think, they made something with it, that helped them escape. (I am almost certain with the facts above this, but not with these facts):
The show took place in Egypt or Orient and they lived in the middle of archeological research in tents. I do not know if I can remember the first episode correctly, but I think that: it started when one of the boys came to the archeologists camp to vist his uncle/or he came with him and he hated it at first, he was technical type and then he meeted the second boy and the girl
I would like to know name of the show, so thank you for help:)
Edited by Vicky125openBritish TV Horror Show - Stone Face Found in River Live Action TV
Looking for the name of a one-episode show (maybe one of a 70's horror anthology series) about a writer living alone in a old country house. He hears strange voices in the night, suffers from blinding migraines, finds a creepy stone face in a river during a walk, get's visited by strange relatives. There's a mood of paranoia and the suggestion he may be hallucinating the whole thing throughout. I saw this on You Tube a couple of years back but can't for the life of me find it again. Any help appreciated!
openDarkly Animated show w/ whiny kid with big glasses Western Animation
I remember watching this show all the time as a kid (probably 99-03) yet i can't remember ANY details except for the description of one kid. From what i remember of the show, this kid was some kind of evil genius and was always coming up with plans. The best i can remember, the kid was drawn as a skinny, nerdy looking kid with black hair, almost in a bowl cut but with a part on one side; he always wore big, round glasses, and (i think) he wore suspenders. If i recall correctly he had an assistant or servant who he would always get mad at and blame when his plans failed (i believe he was under pressure from his father?). He threw alot of tantrums. I can't really rememebr much else for details, other than it was a rather darkly animated kind of show...more serious than the other stuff i watched, with darker tones and coloring. I think i can rememebr there being a room with a lot of clear tubes, much bigger than the boy, filled with some sort of green fluid.. For some reason i thought there was some kind of gargoyle or something involved as a hero (but no, the show is not gargoyles...its darker than that). Does anyone have any idea what i'm talking about??????
Edited by kjk2495opencartoon about a dog and his owners Western Animation
i am trying to remember a cartoon that i THINK aired like 10 years ago and was about a dog and his owners. owners: a young boy and his parents. the dog had mainly white hair and i think he had a black spot in one of his eyes. also the name of this cartoon was the name of the dog, of course. story was mainly about the dog being a douch about something and then later regreting. they get to a dog competition in one of the episodes. the dog used to live in the streets (or in a kennel, idk) before being rescued by his new family, so he loves them alot but is kinda ashamed because of his past. that's all i can remember. also, sorry for the bad english. i am a BRBRHUEHUE
openKid's show Western Animation
I'm not sure about the exact nationality of this show but I believe it was like an educational show that teaches words and stuff. The bad guy in the show makes things black and white? (or something like that, gloomy, he just relates to black and white), the characters also sing a lot of songs? (like each play a role in a band) Also somehow the show has a lot of relation with "keys". I remember being obsessed with this show, sorry the memory is really fuzzy but if anyone has any idea of what this might be please let me know
openProbably unknown show on a DVD Western Animation
I used to watch this show that had animals as the main character and they lived in this forest type place. I remember one episode they got someone who was stuck somewhere out of where they were stuck. There also an episode where there was a lot of rain and I think there was a flood. It used to be on a cheap DVD I had because I had never seen it on TV prior. The title of the show was not a very short one either. I don't remember if was like "The Tales of blah blah" or something and the name of the town might have been involved or something to do with the sun. One of the voices of the characters sounded nasely and whiney.
Edited by RamirezopenFish detectives? Literature
Hi,
Back in the mid-90s when I was a kid, I remember taking a series of books out from the library. They were set in the sea, and the main character was a fish who was a private detective. I can't remember what species he was, but possibly a salmon. Some of the bad guys were barracudas.
It's not the Fish Police comic or cartoon.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
openTeen/tween lit book Literature
This is a teen or tween lit book. It was about a girl who is part of a play at school that is putting on "The Tempest". I think she plays Miranda. The "outcast boy" of the school is playing Caliban, suitably. The main character girl has a crush on this "bad boy", who has a lot of siblings and his family is known for being troublesome. His older brother stole a ton of goldfish out of some community pond and put them in a table filled with resin as a present for their mom. There are also twin boy siblings. I am pretty sure the book takes place in England and there might be a "straight edge" boy vying for main character girl's attention and telling her what scum the bad boy is, predictably. It is not the Georgia Nichols books by Louise Rennison.
openPrince and friends looking for swords Western Animation
There was a show on nicktoons/cartoon network/disney i dont remember, it was about this prince who was looking for elemental swords like a fire sword, wind sword, water sword and an earth sword, him and his friends rode this giant lizard thing i think and the antagonist was a skeleton/old man with a bodyguard, the bodyguard had a mouth in his chest and was also a skeleton

openShort films on Nickelodian
Trying to remember the name of this short film i remember seeing as a kid on Nickelodian....it was on in the mid '90's....it was a cartoon with only piano music playing and the pictures continually zoomed out changing into other things.... So in the beginning of the short film you have this animated piano player, then it zooms out and the piano player becomes a speck of fish food around fish in an aquarium....but then that zooms out to a baby playing in a bathtub, which zooms out again to a girl playing in a dollhouse....the final seconds are a picture of the earth. If anyone remembers this or recalls the name of it, i would be very thankful :)
This has been bugging me for a while. I remember seeing a police drama type tv show. I know the show involves flashbacks. They show you what happened in the past to fill you in on the murder. The only episode I can remember involved what I think was a minister's son. I'm not sure if this is exactly what happened but, the church was involved in conversion and the minister's son was gay. I think his boyfriend was murdered
