Seems the problem isn't so much the reviewers as the people who are not reviewers running the site. Even JO qualified her statement that Doug isn't some sort of asshole, just, not the kind of people you want running anything.

Linkara's not leaving.

Not surprising. What I find most interesting in that post is that Linkara sort of acknowledges other people's grievances (At least in a way that sounds he knew about it before). I'm not surprised he's treated well by management - he's the site's second biggest draw.

Although it hasn't happened yet I just want to throw it out there not to make any judgement calls on anyone. It sucks how it's all gone down, but we also shouldn't use this as a "This proves everything I've ever said about _______" moment.

Lewis has always been pretty damn fantastic at PR. I wonder if he has any prior professional or educational experience in that field.

I wouldn't say that (Considering the number of times he's gotten mini shitstorms from his more unreasonable fans like asking them to turn adblock off). I think Lewis is just successful enough that there's no reason for Rob and Mike to really risk annoying him, and he also seems to have a very live and let live attitude, along with a general avoidance for drama. In short, Lewis is what Doug could be if Doug wasn't in charge :-P

Besides, I think if Lewis really wanted to leave, he would do it already; he's got a sizeable fanbase, his own website, and a steady Patreon income, so he doesn't really need CA that much.

Oh, and MarzGurl is staying, at least for now, as well.

Its not an inaccurate characterization.

I can sorta see it from how Doug is during his Vlogs and other videos where he's himself. That's fine. Takes all sorts.

I never really thought of Spoony's departure much when it happened a couple of years ago. I was surprised on Lindsey's departure (which I heard first), but still didn't think of it much. Then I found out about significant exodus happened, and reading up on it is just....eep.

I guess I shouldn't be stunned that all of this was happening. In retrospect, Sponny being dropped / leaving the site was simply the first visible crack in this BTS mess. :/

I have less of a problem with the characterization (can't speak to it either way) and more of a problem with the term.

Calling someone a "manchild" comes across as a really cheap way of putting yourself in the coveted "adult" position and beyond any kind of reproach. It's a tactic to shut down discussions and entrap anybody you're arguing with.

Weird thing, listening to alot of the stuff that's been posted by Lupa and JO on SA, as well as Phelous on his tumblr, I'm reminded of Spoony's video he made after he left, explaining the situation at CA and stuff. And while, yeah, there's the usual fair amount of Spoony washing his hands of stuff he did, a lot of stuff he said is being echoed in those newest stories.

Or it's just an honest assessment of someone's flaws. We know something is deeply wrong at Channel Awesome, and it appears to be largely due to the management's severe personality issues. If you're immature enough that it helps cripple your entire company, there's no reason for people to sugarcoat it when stating what the problem is.

Hrrrm, on the SA thread JO is talking harrasment "policy" over a past incident with some blog called TGWTG secrets. Complete with pictures of the people involved's response. Sort of too long to copy here sadly.

Yeah, but SA often allows unregistered users to browse the forums. Sadly, at the moment, they don't.

Basically, she was facing a lot of bullshit from the TGWTG Secrets crowd, specifically of the "Ex-boyfriend making shit public" variety. She or her boyfriend (or both) went through pains to get the TGWTG Secrets mods to cut that shit out, and then Rob Walker told her to stop defending herself from those attacks.

Which is pretty bullshit.

This◊ is what he sent her. He threatened her with disciplinary action for "engaging the trolls".

Yeah SA has always made people pay 10 $ for the basic account, worth it imo, makes most people think before they post dumb shit (unless they are posting in GBS)
