As someone who's been playing Monster Hunter: World lately, I hope that some of the monsters in Generations Ultimate make it into World so that World players can share our pain. I don't think Ahtal-Ka will get in (seeing how Kulve Taroth kind of already has the "Golden Lady that gives you shiny stuff" role), but I do hope to see the Valstrax.
MHGU and MHW have very contrasting styles, though. Flashy stuff like Valstrax would hardly find a place in World. That said, I do miss stuff like Nerscylla and the Seltas couple.
... And that's called jazz! How can you say flashy doesn't fit World when there is the Behemoth summoning meteors from the sky?
If we do somehow get Valstrax, I want its cutscene to be the Nergigante about to do the divebomb on you, only to suddenly get knocked out of the sky by the Valstrax.

I want the red-eyes black rathian from frontier. And to a lesser extent, the blue-eyes white rathalos.
Capcom please make me eat my words.

"when you stare too long into the abyss, Xehanort takes advantage of the distraction to break into your house and steal all your shit."Downloaded the demo. And uh, haven't fought jet dragon before. That's new for me. Maybe I'll try building up my old dual blades from 4U when I transfer over my Generations file. The aerial hammer is nice, but fast strikes suit me more I think.
Your preferences are not everyone else's preferences.Yeah, the Valstrax is new in MHGU. And if you look closely at the mission names and descriptions, you're told to "slay" the Valstrax instead of "hunting" it like the other two monsters, which is your big hint that the Valstrax is a freaking Elder Dragon. Have fun doing that with the crappy loadouts in the demo!
Will the transhumanist future have catgirls? Does Japan still exist? Well, there is your answer. — UnknownOne more reason why I want Valstrax to make an appearance in World: every non-Nintendo World player needs to have at least one hunt with this blaring in the background:

Valstrax is the monster I want the most for World DLC.
Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireOh yeah, Valstrax's music is quite epic. Still getting used to the controls (coming back from World and not very used to the Switch outside Bot W or Mario Kart), so I'll delay my fight against it a little bit.
... And that's called jazz!Just beat Zorah Magdaros in the second encounter with it. Looks like High Rank is coming up soon.
Valstrax theme is pretty damn cool, gotta give him that, but he ain't topping Shagaru Magala's theme any time soon.
Aight, time to do the final boss. For those who haven't read that somewhere else : backup your save before doing so, there's apparently a 25% chance of permanently bricking the entire save during that quest, after which you need to manually delete it (and lose EVERYTHANG ? EVERRYTHANG in the process) to get the game working again.
"when you stare too long into the abyss, Xehanort takes advantage of the distraction to break into your house and steal all your shit."Took a little bit of doing to get used to the Switch's old school Monster Hunter controls but I'm already looking forward to Generations Ultimate from the little taste in the demo. I forgot how much more cartoony and colorful the older Monster Hunters were.
And I'm now in High Rank in World. I'm grinding money to get the Zorah Magdaros armor in preparation for taking on High Rank.
x3 Wait, are you talking about Generations Ultimate or World?

Personally, I'd prefer if the 'net was a little friendlier, but you know the GIFT...World. Don't have any infos on generations.
Feels kinda dumb to me that they release genereations ultimate so early while world hasn't even received a patch yet. I missed generations ultimate the first time around when my friends were playing it on 3ds because I had something else to do, and the same thing will happen again except said other thing will be literrally the other monster hunter that just came out.
Shame, because some friends really hyped up generations ultimate to me as redeeming every thing the original gen did wrong, on top of having all the good stuff I didn't got to see the first time on gen cause i dropped the game. Ah well, at least most of them don't have a switch so i'm not going to miss a big thing where everyone is playing it but not me. That's more or less the only reason I picked world on pc while I had it on ps4.
Now capcom for fuck sake release deviljho and lunastra on pc. High rank just doesn't feel the same without the angry pickle around to tell bazelgeuse to piss off. It's already on ps4, come on.
Just killed the hr49 tempered kirin. Motherfucker hits hard, but fully upgraded Rathalos GS hits harder. Also, the flying mantle sucker punch'ed the fuck outta him when it allowed me to escpae his nest while he was dying and then immediately get back up when he went to sleep and deliever a true strike to his face. Atta'boy.

"when you stare too long into the abyss, Xehanort takes advantage of the distraction to break into your house and steal all your shit."Another monster I hope to see in World is the Zinogre. And give it a turf war against the Odogaron, because seeing that red puppy jump from the electricity will be hilarious.
I kinda wish the Fated Four would appear in World, but that involves bringing Glavenus in... And while cool, it seems quite over-the-top for MHW.
But now that I think about it, Valstrax isn't that far from what we already have in World: we've got an F-52 Bomber wyvern, why not a jet dragon?
I still want my quadrupedal tank lady tho
... And that's called jazz!Yeah. I don't get the idea that some of the monsters would be too out there for World. The final boss is like something straight out of Final Fantasy and the newest DLC is something actually straight out of Final Fantasy. They were clearly willing to get crazy with what can be in the game.
Mega Man fanatic extraordinairei spent a while farming xeno last night and i just hate that fight. babby is so fidgety and takes gigantic steps so i feel like i spend 90% of the fight just running after him. using a swaxe was marginally better than charge blade or lance, at least, but just barely.
and in the end, it turns out the styx swaxe isn't all that great compared to all the other ones i have, so idk why i had it on my wishlist.
this is why you don't go to the workshop while intoxicated.
"Never let the truth get in the way of a good story." TwitterNah, I've always had the impression that World usually wants to look more "gritty" or less colorful and flashy, with some exceptions. But even leaving Behemoth aside, we have a bomber and a glowing alien in the regular roster, so you have a point there.
Edited by KusaMigeru on Aug 18th 2018 at 1:35:04 PM
... And that's called jazz!Even Behemoth is relatively down to earth in design compared to some of the crazier monsters in the older games like Kecha Waka or Valstrax.
But than we also have the floating, puffball, Honduran white bat monster Paolumu and the vore monster Great Jagras, so maybe it's less of an issue than it would seem.
Fated Four being in World would be pretty neat. Imagine the turf wars involving Astalos.
tbh paolomu's animations always struck me as not fitting into world. like i think i actually lol'd the first time i fought him
that said, i also was wielding a giant, impractical, transforming weapon so it wasn't like my suspension of disbelief was in any danger
"Never let the truth get in the way of a good story." TwitterThat's also the game where the dude swinging a sword bigger than himself can swing it so hard he can pole-vault over the sword and make a second swing in the same movement. World strikes me as just as crazy as generations when it comes to the rule of cool, the down to earth setting seems more like a byproduct of the limited roster. And even in that, there's still teostra in there. His supernova outflashes anything a flashier monster like the zinogre has in store.
Well, I just first tried White winds of the new world. Kinda surprised to see it's meant to be the big final climax where everyone and their dog comes to congratulate you after that, considering there's still the sapphire star guidance to fill that role, and that... well, If I can first try it without even changing something on my gear, it seriously pale in comparison to the caravaneer's trial, the mark of the hero, or the test of the master.
Legiana got stunlocked to hell so hard he didn't hit me even once. Odogaron stalled the fight by forcing me to heal from bleeding, giving time to the diablos to arrive, and the pair carted me twice. pretty surprised to see that odogaron seems to utterly ruin the diablos in a turf war though.
Then I got lucky to finish diablos quickly enough that rathalos didn't arrived in the fight, and it went back to stunlock/flashpod hell for him.
Welp, time to max out the research on the last monsters and farm HR 100.
